I'm Beaudry Mikhail, an AI product leader working across civic technology and sustainable infrastructure. My career spans public service and organizations including Apple, Ford, Daimler, Aclima, and most recently at the Mayor's Office of Innovation in San Francisco, with an earlier doctoral research background in AI modeling of energy and infrastructure systems.
I believe government has an essential role in delivering critical infrastructure services that work for people. I focus on growing the state's capacity to do that work: understanding frontline needs, shaping products and services, and helping public sector teams take an idea through to delivery and beyond.
My practice combines research and design with hands-on, lean delivery. I'm a pioneer of agentic coding in the public sector space, collaborating with leading engineers at the City of San Francisco to establish new workflows and practices for agentic coding that free up more non-technical City staff to deliver more, faster - while reinforcing the importance of clear product and design leadership, strong human engineering review, and safeguards.
Previously known professionally as Beaudry Kock.
How I work
Use AI, well. I lead with AI, but adjusted for context. In the CareConnect project, I constrained AI's role to agentic coding support and quality-of-life features. In the Good Neighbor app, I placed AI at the core of the app's analytical engine. I safeguard aggressively and deterministically, and am not an advocate for unconstrained use of AI in policy development.
Users break the tie. In the Good Neighbor app development process, I led daily user testing in real field environments. In CareConnect, I defended frontline workers from creeping administrative burden. At Apple, I protected the core user experience from attempts by partners to water down requirements.
Delivery is the strategy. I move fast, I ship daily, and I privilege putting products and services in the field over exhaustive and counterproductive up-front risk minimization.
Jack of all trades, master of outcomes. I am agnostic to background, discipline, department, or hierarchy: I will work with whoever and wherever I need to, to get the product shipped or the service rebuilt. I have practiced policy, operations, design, and engineering, and bring it all to the table. But I am not capital's willing executioner: I only work on projects that add value to the world; I bring and defend strongly moral points of view; and I bias towards radical candor.
Conversation starters
I'm interested in civic tech, AI-forward opportunities in critical infrastructures (transportation, energy, healthcare); and advocacy collaborations and board service opportunities in transportation.
